## Synopsis

Drifting Dragons (2020) is a Japanese animated seinen fantasy adventure series created for Fuji TV and produced by Polygon Pictures. Its single season of twelve twenty-minute episodes follows the crew of the dragon-hunting airship Quin Zaza, with voice performances from Makoto Furukawa as Faye, Tomoaki Maeno as Mika, Hiro Sasaki as Lee, and Junichi Suwabe as Gibbs. The engine of the series is the ordinary labor of hunting: the crew travels the skies in search of dragons, which the surface world fears yet depends on for medicine, oil, and food. Each episode mixes hunts, scavenging, and the daily routines of shipboard life, so the show balances danger with the warmth of a traveling household. Set in a sky-bound fantasy world where the air is the frontier for trade and peril, the series has a wistful, adventurous register, with lush painterly skies and a sense of a wide world beyond the clouds. Fans of Made in Abyss, Sky Pirates of Sahara, and Monster Hunter Stories will find resonance in its blend of creature wonder, crew camaraderie, and moral unease about profit from living giants.
