## Synopsis

ID: INVADED (2020) is a Japanese animated crime thriller series broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS11, a single-season run of thirteen episodes. Sakaido, a genius detective who can track down any criminal, is the protagonist, voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda, and his story turns on a grim bargain: after his daughter is murdered and his revenge sends him to prison, he helps the police solve cases through a system that invades a person's identity. Each episode builds a mystery in which the investigation moves through disorienting, surreal digital spaces, and the investigator's own pursuit of his daughter's killer threads through every case. Voice cast members including Yoshimasa Hosoya as Funetaro Momoki and Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Sarina Togo fill out the police investigation around him. The tone is dark, bleak and suspenseful, with a stylized look and a heavy weight of grief and violence. Fans of Mindhunter, Hannibal and Psycho-Pass will find resonance in its cerebral, morally compromised hunt for a killer.
