## Synopsis

Sanditon (2019-2023) is a British period drama series created by Andrew Davies for ITV1 and PBS. Rose Williams plays the spirited, impulsive Charlotte Heywood, who leaves her rural home for Sanditon, a fishing village struggling to reinvent itself as a fashionable seaside resort. Her arrival throws her among ambitious local figures, including Anne Reid as the domineering Lady Denham, Kris Marshall as Tom Parker and Theo James as Sidney Parker, and each episode turns on courtship, social climbing and the schemes of scheming relatives and suitors. The show runs three seasons and twenty episodes, weaving romance with commercial ambition in a regency-era coastal setting. Its tone is witty and breezy, with a gentle comic irony and a warm, romantic glow around its drawing rooms and sea views. Built on an unfinished Jane Austen manuscript, it spins the familiar marriage-market mechanics into a fresh resort story. Fans of Pride and Prejudice, Bridgerton and Lady Susan will find resonance in its blend of sharp manners, romantic misunderstanding and provincial ambition.
