## Synopsis

The Wall (2019-2022) is a Canadian French-language crime drama series created by Frédéric Ouellet for Club Illico. Veteran Quebec City detective Céline Trudeau (Isabel Richer) is dispatched to Fermont, a remote mining colony in Canada's frozen far North, after the body of a young exotic dancer turns up. Her investigation is shaped by the claustrophobic setting, a massive walled structure the residents simply call The Wall, where outsiders are watched and loyalties run tight. Alexandre Théberge (Alexandre Landry) and Sophie Taylor (Maripier Morin) are among the principal characters whose connections to the community complicate the case. The engine of the series is a methodical murder investigation in which every interview and lead pushes Céline against the colony's silences, and each season tightens the pressure with new deaths and hidden ties. Across three seasons and twenty-five episodes, the show moves at a measured, serialized pace. Its tone is cold, tense and melancholic, with a grounded, atmospheric look built on the isolation of the North. Fans of Fortitude, The Killing and Twin Peaks will find resonance in its bleak small-town mystery and its sense that a remote community hides its own darkness.
