## Synopsis

Plunderer (2020) is a Japanese anime series adapted from a manga, produced by studios including GEEKTOYS and KADOKAWA and broadcast on TOKYO MX. Set in the year 305 of the Alcian calendar in a post-apocalyptic world, it follows Hina (voiced by Rina Honnizumi), who inherits a dangerous mission from her mother to search for the Legendary Red Baron. Her companion is Licht Bach (Yoshiki Nakajima), a half-masked swordsman hiding his identity because he is branded a degenerate with an incredibly low Count. In this society every person carries a numerical value tied to their life, from steps walked to compliments received, and a Count that falls to zero means descent into the abyss. The engine of the story is the pair's journey across a ruined land, where bounty, danger and secrets shape each episode. Supporting voices include Linn May (Ari Ozawa) and Pele (Aoi Ichikawa). The single 24-episode season is a continuing adventure with shounen energy, a mix of action and fantasy. Its tone is brisk and irreverent, with moments of unease about the cruelty of a world that measures worth in numbers. Fans of Log Horizon and Attack on Titan will find a similar appetite for ruined-world quests and sword-driven adventure.
