## Synopsis

Temple (2019-2021) is a British two-season crime thriller created by Mark O'Rowe for Sky One and Sky Max. Mark Strong plays Daniel Milton, a successful surgeon whose wife Beth is struck by a fatal degenerative disease, while Daniel Mays plays Lee, a lonely and resourceful outsider who becomes his partner. Together they build an illegal medical clinic in the sprawling tunnels beneath Temple Tube Station in London, treating patients who have nowhere else to turn. Carice van Houten plays Anna, whose presence complicates the secret operation. Each episode is driven by the constant danger of discovery, the practical grind of improvising surgery in cramped and filthy conditions, and the escalating price of keeping the clinic hidden. The tone is bleak, tense and claustrophobic, with a sense of desperation that colors every choice. Its gritty, morally compromised world will appeal to fans of Breaking Bad and Line of Duty, and viewers who enjoyed the medical intensity of The Knick will find it a related experience. Across its fifteen episodes spread over two seasons, the series builds a dark, serialized story about what a grieving person will do when every legitimate option has run out.
