## Synopsis

Starstruck (2021-2023) is a British romantic comedy series created by Rose Matafeo for BBC Three. Rose Matafeo plays Jessie, a London twenty-something whose drunken New Year's Eve hook-up with Tom (Nikesh Patel) takes a sharp turn when she discovers he is a film star. The engine of the series is the awkward, funny push and pull of a relationship that should never have started, as Jessie tries to keep her life, her friendships and her dignity intact while the romance keeps pulling her back. Each short episode is built from pub nights, flatshare chaos, and the mundane embarrassments of dating in a city full of bad choices. Emma Sidi plays Kate, Jessie's close friend and sounding board, whose loyalty anchors the comedy. The series runs three seasons and eighteen episodes in a continuing storyline, with each season carrying the central romance forward. Set in contemporary London, the show carries a sharp, self-aware, sincere tone, combining the warmth of a romcom with the bruised honesty of millennial life. Fans of Fleabag, Catastrophe and Chewing Gum will find resonance in its frank, funny take on love, fame and fumbling adulthood.
