## Synopsis

Duncanville is an American adult animated sitcom that ran on FOX from 2020 to 2022 across three seasons and thirty-three episodes, created by Amy Poehler, Julie Thacker and Mike Scully. Fifteen-year-old Duncan is an ordinary kid in a present-day American suburb, but his vivid imagination casts him as someone always amazing, a hero of his own daydreams. The engine of the series is the gap between that fantasy and the reality of being broke, driving his mom around while she rides shotgun and babysitting his younger sister. Each episode is a self-contained comedy built around everyday suburban frustrations, school life and family friction, with wild animated fantasy sequences pulling against the mundane. The tone is breezy, cozy and deadpan, lighthearted rather than bleak, and the humor leans on small indignities and warm family dynamics. Its rhythms will appeal to fans of Bob's Burgers, American Dad! and F Is for Family, who enjoy animated family comedies that find humor in ordinary life. The show was canceled after its third season, leaving its story open and its characters mid-adventure.
