## Synopsis

Raising Dion (2019-2022) is an American Netflix drama series created by Carol Barbee, blending family drama with supernatural superhero storytelling. Alisha Wainwright plays Nicole Warren, a widowed mother determined to understand the mysterious powers emerging in her young son, Dion, played by Ja'Siah Young. Nicole works to solve the puzzle of what is happening to her boy while keeping his extraordinary gifts hidden from the people around them, which puts strain on their household and their relationships. Jason Ritter, Sammi Haney, and Gavin Munn round out the principal family and supporting circle. The series runs across two seasons and seventeen episodes of roughly forty-six minutes each, following a standalone-leaning structure where each season builds a mystery around the boy's abilities. Its tone is heartfelt and accessible, with a family-friendly sensibility suited to younger viewers while still engaging adults who enjoy supernatural stories. Its look is grounded and domestic rather than spectacular, and fans of Heroes, Smallville and Runaways will find a similar pull toward young people discovering extraordinary powers within ordinary family life. The show was canceled after its second season, and its story is left unfinished.
