## Synopsis

Daa! Daa! Daa! UFO Baby (2000-2002) is a Japanese animated family comedy produced by J.C.Staff for NHK, a single continuous run of 78 episodes of about twenty-five minutes each. A teenage girl's ordinary household is unexpectedly joined by a small alien baby who arrives from the sky and settles into everyday life. The engine of the series is domestic: relatives, schoolmates and neighbours adapt awkwardly to the strange new presence, and each episode is built from small mishaps, school routines and the friction of sharing a home with an unexpected guest. Voice performances anchor the household's warmth, and the tone stays light, whimsical and comforting, with a sweet romantic undercurrent running beneath the gags. Nothing is heavy or threatening; the science fiction premise serves as a gentle lens on family life and growing up. Viewers who enjoy slice-of-life anime, alien-in-the-house comedies and cozy all-ages sitcoms will find the series easy to settle into, warm and quick to embrace its odd little guest.
