## Synopsis

Jupiter's Legacy (2021) is an American superhero drama series created by Steven S. DeKnight and released on Netflix. Josh Duhamel plays Sheldon Sampson, known as The Utopian, leader of the first generation of superheroes who gained their powers in the 1930s and now stand as revered elders in the present day. Ben Daniels plays his brother Walter, the telepathic Brainwave, and Leslie Bibb plays Grace, the heroine Lady Liberty, while Elena Kampouris plays Chloe, a younger Sampson struggling to live up to the legendary feats of her parents. The engine of the series is the tension between an older generation whose glory feels settled and younger powered figures who must forge identities in that long shadow. Each episode mixes superhuman action set pieces with family confrontations, loyalty tests and tangled personal rivalries among the heroes. Told as one serialized season of eight episodes, the show moves between present-day conflicts and flashbacks to the early decades of the heroes' careers. Its mood is brash and action packed, with dark moral friction beneath the spectacle, in the vein of The Boys and Invincible, and fans of those adult superhero dramas will find resonance here. Set in a present-day American city shaped by a long superhero history, it is a glossy, sometimes melodramatic take on power and inheritance that was canceled before its story was finished.
