## Synopsis

In/Spectre (2020-2023) is a Japanese animated supernatural romance mystery series produced by NAS and Brain's Base and broadcast on TV Asahi. Kotoko Iwanaga, voiced by Akari Kito, is a clever girl who has become a sought-after god of wisdom among spirits and demons, solving their problems for a living. Her crush is Kuro Sakuragawa, voiced by Mamoru Miyano, a boy the supernatural world fears, and their working and personal bond drives the show's engine. Each story unfolds as a self-contained case of the week, with a spirit, creature, or cursed situation pulling the pair into a puzzle rooted in Japanese folklore. Kuro's sister Rikka, voiced by Mayumi Saco, appears in several episodes and adds to the web of secrets around him. The single season of twenty-four episodes balances playful romantic banter with mounting questions about Kuro's nature and the premonitions that surround him. Set in a contemporary Japan where ordinary streets hide old creatures, the series has a light, warm, and quietly eerie register. Its mix of gentle comedy, romantic tension, and mystery makes it a natural pick for viewers who enjoy Natsume's Book of Friends, Kamisama Kiss, or Mononoke, with an easy, episodic pace that rewards patience.
