## Synopsis

Extraordinary You (2019) is a South Korean fantasy romance series created by Kim Dong-rae and Moon Joo-hee for MBC, adapted from a popular webcomic. Kim Hye-yoon plays Eun Dan-oh, a high school girl who discovers she is merely a character whose destiny is decided by a writer, and who resolves to alter the plot so she can find the love of her life. Rowoon plays Number 13, also known as Haru, a figure tied to her story, while Lee Jae-wook plays Baek Kyung, and Lee Tae-ri appears in the supporting cast. The engine of the show is Dan-oh's push against a script that keeps steering her toward pain, as she tries to rewrite her fate one episode at a time. Told as a single 32-episode season of about 32 minutes each, it moves through school life, a love triangle, memory loss and a serious illness, with the emotional stakes rising as the rewritten path grows more tangled. The tone mixes wistful romance, sincere longing and playful meta humor about being fiction, with a melancholic undercurrent. Fans of Hotel Del Luna and Tomorrow's Cinderella will find resonance in its blend of Korean romance, fantasy and destiny.
