## Synopsis

Romulus (2020-2022) is an Italian and British historical drama series created by Matteo Rovere for Sky Atlantic, spoken in Latin and set in eighth century BC Latium. Rather than a polished pageant, it follows three people shaped by death, loneliness and violence, centered on the legendary twins Romulus and Remus as their story is seen through the eyes of Yemos (Andrea Arcangeli), Wiros (Francesco Di Napoli) and Ilia (Marianna Fontana). Their engine is raw survival: they must cross a hostile landscape, dodge rival tribes and fight for food, shelter and a place to belong while the powerful around them pursue their own ambitions. Across two seasons and eighteen episodes, the series builds a grounded, mud-and-blood world of early tribal Italy in which myth feels earned through hardship. Its mood is bleak, intense and elemental, with a harsh, primal atmosphere that foregrounds loyalty, grief and the cost of ambition. Fans of Spartacus and Vikings will find resonance in its brutal period texture and its focus on survival among warring peoples. The series is a demanding, adult watch that rewards viewers drawn to gritty historical storytelling.
