## Synopsis

Criminal: France (2019) is a French national-television crime drama miniseries created by Jim Field Smith and George Kay for Netflix. Across three tightly wound episodes, the story stays almost entirely inside a Paris police interview room, where investigators such as Audrey Larsen (Margot Bancilhon) and Laetitia Serra (Anne Azoulay) face off against suspects including Omar Matif (Mhamed Arezki) and Olivier Hagen (Laurent Lucas). Each episode is built around a new case, and the engine is the push and pull of questioning: investigators want the truth, suspects want to control what is revealed, and every lie opens a new layer of secrets. Supporting turns from Nathalie Baye and Sara Giraudeau deepen the stakes as hidden motives surface. The shape is a compact limited series of self-contained cases linked by a shared format. The tone is tense, claustrophobic and intimate, with a cool, procedural register that rewards close attention. Fans of Interrogation, Spiral and the anthology structure of Criminal will find resonance in its mix of psychological duel and crime mystery.
