## Synopsis

Why R U? (2020) is a Thai national-television BL romance series created by Candy On for ONE 31. Aspiring sci-fi writer Zon (Sittichok Pueakpoolpol) finds his life tangled with Saifah (Karn Kritsanaphan), whose growing closeness with him mirrors a BL novel written by Zon's sister, Soda (Arachaporn Pokinpakorn). Meanwhile, tutor Tutor (Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana) wrestles with struggles of his own, and Fighter (Pruk Panich) adds another layer of rivalry and attraction. The engine of the show is the push and pull between characters who keep misreading each other, with friendships fraying and feelings surfacing at the wrong moments. Each of its thirteen one-hour episodes moves through campus life, study sessions, and quiet confessions, building a single continuing story rather than standalone episodes. Set in contemporary Thailand among university students, the series plays out in a warm but wistful register, with heartbreak, sexual tension, and secret relationships giving way to hopeful moments. Its mix of romance and comedy, along with the meta-fiction of a novel reflecting real life, will appeal to viewers who enjoyed Still 2gether and I Told Sunset About You.
