## Synopsis

50 States of Fright (2020) is an American horror anthology series created by Sam Raimi for Quibi. Each brief six-minute episode adapts a different urban legend, following a fresh set of characters who stumble into the dark rumors and monsters hiding beneath everyday life across the country. Cast members include Christina Ricci as Bitsy, Colin Ford as Kyle, Rachel Brosnahan as Heather, Travis Fimmel as Dave, Victoria Justice as Logan and Jacob Batalon as Simon, appearing in separate stories rather than one continuing narrative. The engine of the series is the simple promise of a self-contained scare: a mundane situation tips into the uncanny, and the episode ends before the dread can settle. Across two seasons and twenty-four episodes, the show moves between roadside diners, quiet suburban streets and isolated rural spots, building an atmosphere of unease that feels rooted in local storytelling. The tone is eerie and grim, with graphic moments and disturbing imagery, and the format is pure campfire horror. Fans of Tales from the Crypt, Creepshow and Black Mirror will find resonance in its bite-sized, twist-driven chills and its appetite for American folklore. Its brevity makes it an easy watch for genre lovers who want a quick jolt.
