## Synopsis

Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story (2020-2022) is a Japanese anime dark fantasy mystery series produced by SHAFT and CloverWorks, a spin-off of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise and based on a mobile game. Iroha Tamaki (voiced by Momo Asakura) leaves home for Kamihama City, following rumors that magical girls can be saved there, though she cannot remember the wish she made to Kyubey. Along the way she meets fellow magical girls including Yachiyo Nanami (Sora Amamiya), Tsuruno Yui (Shiina Natsukawa) and Felicia Mitsuki (Ayane Sakura), each of whom has bargained for something and pays for it in battles against witches. The engine of the series is Iroha's search for the truth behind the city and her lost wish, pursued through rumor, investigation and fights that cost the girls dearly. Across three seasons and twenty-five episodes, the story unfolds as one serialized arc rather than standalone cases. The mood is surreal and melancholic, with dreamlike imagery and a steady undercurrent of dread. Viewers who enjoyed Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Serial Experiments Lain and Persona 4: The Animation will find resonance in its blend of mystery, dark fantasy and fractured identity.
