## Synopsis

VIP (2019) is a South Korean melodrama series created by Hye Won, Lee Ok-gyu and Lee Jeong-lim for SBS, a k-drama that blends workplace drama with mystery and romance. The story follows the staff of a department store's VIP service desk, whose job is to cater to the desires of the store's most affluent shoppers while their own personal lives fall apart. Jang Na-ra plays Na Jung-Sun, and Lee Sang-yun plays Park Sung-Joon, with Lee Jae-won as Lee Byung-Hoon and Shin Jae-ha as Ma Sang-Woo rounding out the principal circle. Across sixteen one-hour episodes in a single season, the engine is a web of hidden relationships, quiet investigations and stolen glances, where every favor for a wealthy client threatens to expose a secret at home. The atmosphere is glossy and tense, with melodramatic reversals, emotional confrontations and a constant sense that someone is watching. Set in contemporary Seoul, the series sits within the conglomerate-driven world of Korean retail and class tension. Fans of The Penthouse, Misaeng and Dynasty will find resonance in its mix of elite glamour, infidelity and office intrigue.
