## Synopsis

Psychopath Diary (2019-2020) is a South Korean dark comedy crime series created by Kim Hwan-chae and Ryoo Yong-Jae for tvN. Yoon Shi-yoon plays Yook Dong-sik, an ordinary man who witnesses a murder, grabs the killer's diary while fleeing, and then loses his memory in a car accident. Believing the diary's account of a psychopathic serial killer is his own, he becomes entangled in a murder investigation alongside detectives and the people around him. Jung In-sun co-stars as Shim Bo-kyung, and the supporting cast includes Park Sung-hoon and Lee Han-wi. The series runs for one season of sixteen episodes, each about eighty minutes long, and unfolds as a continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its engine is the gap between who Dong-sik believes he is and who he actually is, played out through anxious chases, awkward cover-ups, and sharp shifts in suspicion. The tone mixes wry humor with genuine menace and moral unease, with a Seoul setting in the present era. Viewers who enjoy the dark comedy of Dexter, the self-aware suspense of Hannibal, and the wry precision of Korean crime fiction will find resonance here.
