## Synopsis

Brotherhood (2019-2022) is a Brazilian crime drama series broadcast on Netflix, set in present-day Sao Paulo. Its protagonist is an honest lawyer, Cristina Ferreira (Naruna Costa), who is pressed by the police into informing on her incarcerated brother Marcel Ferreira (Wesley Guimaraes), the leader of a rising criminal faction. Seu Jorge plays Edison, and Hermila Guedes plays Darlene, two principal figures who move through the tangled web of prison politics, police corruption and street-level power. The engine of the story is Cristina's moral squeeze: every favor she trades for her family threatens her professional integrity and her own safety, while the criminal and police factions each push for leverage. Across two seasons and fourteen episodes, the show unfolds as one continuing serialized story rather than a case of the week, with tense confrontations, betrayals and shifting alliances. Its register is gritty, dark and claustrophobic, with a bleak edge and moments of raw emotional honesty. Fans of Narcos, Elite Squad and Better Call Saul will find resonance in its portrait of loyalty, compromise and criminal ambition. Rated TV-MA, it is a mature, intense watch for viewers who want a grounded Latin American crime saga.
