## Synopsis

Mortel (2019-2021) is a French supernatural teen drama series created by Frédéric Bélier-Garcia for Netflix. Three seemingly incompatible teenagers, Sofiane, Victor and Luisa, find themselves bound together by a supernatural force that none of them chose and none of them understands. The show follows Sofiane (Carl Malapa), Victor (Némo Schiffman) and Luisa (Manon Bresch) as their lives collide, forcing them to navigate friendship, family pressure and the strange powers pulling them together. Reda (Sami Outalbali) and Bastien (Marvin Dubart) add further tangled loyalties to the group. The engine of each episode is the push and pull between ordinary adolescent problems and the escalating demands of the force binding them, with secrets accumulating across a short run of twelve episodes split into two seasons. Its tone is moody and intense, with a grounded, contemporary French setting that keeps the fantastical elements close to everyday school corridors and city streets. Fans of Misfits, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and other serialized teen supernatural dramas will find resonance in its blend of youthful drama and dark, unsettling mystery. Being a Netflix production, it carries the streaming service's mature teen rating. The series ended on an open note after its second season.
