## Synopsis

The Stranded (2019) is a Thai teen survival mystery limited series created by Christian Durso for Netflix. Students from an elite school are left stranded on an island after a tsunami destroys their surroundings, and the story follows the group as they try to hold on to hope while adults are absent and rescue never comes. Kraam (Papangkorn Lerkchaleampote) and Anan (Chutavuth Pattarakampol) sit at the center of a tangle of rivalry and affection, alongside Joey (Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang) and May (Chayanit Chansangavej), whose friendships and jealousies strain as the survivors plan their own escape. Each episode of this seven-episode run gives weight to backstories through flashback, revealing why these young people became who they are and the regrets they carry. The engine is the slow erosion of trust under isolation, as eerie occurrences deepen suspicion and fear among the survivors. The tone is tense and emotionally raw, with a dreamy, claustrophobic island atmosphere shadowed by dread and grief. Its relentless mood and mystery recall the island paranoia of Lost, the teen survival stakes of The 100, and the brutal youth-in-peril premise of Battle Royale. Fans of these shows will find resonance in its blend of teen drama and survival suspense.
