## Synopsis

A Little Thing Called First Love (2019) is a Chinese campus romance series produced for Hunan Television, with streaming distribution on Mango TV and iQiyi. Across a single season of 36 forty-five-minute episodes, the story follows an ordinary girl who falls head over heels for the most popular guy in school. Lai Guan-lin plays Liang Younian, the golden boy at the center of the crush, while Zhao Jinmai plays Xia Miaomiao, the heroine whose everyday awkwardness makes her hopeful pursuit feel earned. Wang Runze as Lin Kaituo and Chai Wei as He Xin fill out the circle of classmates, and the friendships and rivalries among them give each episode its texture. The engine is simple: the heroine wants to be seen, the boy is surrounded by admirers, and every small school-day misunderstanding pushes them toward or away from each other. A secondary couple runs alongside the main pairing, adding a second strand of youthful longing. Fans of Meteor Garden, Kimi ni Todoke and Boys Over Flowers will find resonance in its sweet, breezy register, its makeover-driven wish fulfillment and its warm, nostalgic portrait of first love.
