## Synopsis

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (2020-2025) is a Japanese anime supernatural romantic comedy series created as a broadcast production for TBS and animated by Lerche. Hopeful high school student Nene Yashiro (Akari Kito) summons the ghost in her school's girls' bathroom hoping to reach her crush, only to discover the spirit is a boy, Hanako (Megumi Ogata), a mischievous youkai bound to the location. Nene's classmate Kou Minamoto (Shoya Chiba) and his brother Teru (Yuma Uchida) become entangled in the spirit-world mysteries that surround the school, while Natsuhiko Hyuuga (Takahiro Mizushima) pursues the supernatural cases. Each arc pairs a school-set haunting with a puzzle about the spirit's unresolved past, blending lighthearted banter with eerie atmosphere. The series runs across two seasons and 36 episodes of brisk, cheerful storytelling. Its tone is playful and warm, with comic energy and gentle romance, and fans of Kamisama Kiss and Mieruko-chan will find resonance in its blend of school life and spirits.
