## Synopsis

Maradona in Mexico (2019) is a Peruvian and Argentine co-produced documentary miniseries released on Netflix. It follows Diego Maradona as he takes over the Dorados, Culiacan's local football club sitting at the bottom of the rankings, looking for a fresh start in Mexico. Maradona appears as himself, while announcer Jarrod Pistilli narrates the action and club figures such as Dennis Kleinman appear in the team's orbit. Across seven episodes of roughly thirty-nine minutes each, the engine is simple: a struggling club with little money and a skeptical press that expects disaster, against a legendary coach trying to prove them wrong. Each episode grows out of training sessions, match days and the clash between local expectations and a global icon. The limited series is a sports docuseries with a bittersweet, human texture and a warm affection for the game. Fans of Sunderland 'Til I Die and Last Chance U will find resonance in its behind-the-scenes access to a club fighting to stay alive. Set in Culiacan, Sinaloa, it balances celebration with the uncertainty of a team on the edge.
