## Synopsis

In Treatment (2021-2022) is a French national-television psychological drama series created by Éric Toledano, Laetitia Gonzalez and Olivier Nakache for ARTE, adapted from the Israeli format that has been remade around the world. Frédéric Pierrot plays Paris psychoanalyst Philippe Dayan, whose office becomes the stage for a rotating set of patients, including Mélanie Thierry as Ariane, a woman in a troubled marriage, and Pio Marmaï as Damien, a man struggling with his own inner turmoil. Reda Kateb and Céleste Brunnquell appear among the other principal figures whose lives unfold across weekly sessions. The engine of the series is the slow accumulation of confession, resistance and small revelations, one hour-long conversation at a time, as patients test the analyst and the analyst's own private life begins to strain. Set in autumn 2015 Paris, the narrative gradually reaches the city's November attacks, which press into the consulting room. Across two seasons and seventy episodes, the show is built on dialogue rather than spectacle, with a restrained, contemplative register that is intimate, wounded and quietly humane. Fans of In Treatment, Dix pour cent and Les Revenants will find resonance in its measured psychological intensity, its European sensibility and its attention to the fragile interior lives of ordinary people.
