## Synopsis

Kakushigoto (2020) is a Japanese animated slice of life comedy produced by Ajiado and broadcast on AT-X and BS Nippon TV, a single-season run of twelve episodes. Kakushi Goto (voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya) is a single father and top-selling artist of popular erotic manga who must hide his livelihood from his impressionable young daughter Hime (voiced by Rie Takahashi). The engine of the show is the constant effort to keep Hime's inquisitive mind away from his work, with each episode built from everyday domestic mishaps, school life, and the awkward social situations that arise when a child asks about things she should not understand. Supporting voices including Natsuki Hanae as Satsuki Tomaruin and Taku Yashiro as Aogu Shiji round out a cast of friends and colleagues who help or complicate the deception. The story unfolds in a contemporary Japanese city, with the manga industry providing a backdrop of deadlines and editorial pressure. Its tone is gentle, warm, and breezy, leaning on quiet affection between father and daughter rather than plot escalation. Comedy comes from the gap between what Hime sees and what her father is hiding. Fans of Yotsuba&!, Usagi Drop, and Bakuman will find resonance in its cozy domestic humor and its portrait of a creative working life.
