## Synopsis

Deadwater Fell (2020) is a British crime drama limited series created by Daisy Coulam for Channel 4. Across four hour-long episodes, a seemingly perfect family is murdered by someone they knew and trusted, and the fallout pulls apart an outwardly idyllic community. David Tennant plays Tom Kendrick, whose household sits at the center of the case, alongside Cush Jumbo as Jess Milner, Anna Madeley as Kate Kendrick, and Matthew McNulty as Steve. The engine of the story is the slow accumulation of suspicion: each episode peels back another neighbour's private secret, lie, and grudge, so that every household becomes a possible culprit. Shaped as a single contained season, it works as a compact whodunit rather than an open-ended saga. The mood is tense, uneasy and claustrophobic, with an atmosphere of quiet domestic dread beneath polite English surfaces. Viewers who enjoy Broadchurch, The Killing and Big Little Lies will find the same blend of small-community secrecy, mounting unease and character-driven suspense. The result is a sharp, morally murky mystery about how easily trust curdles when everyone has something to hide.
