## Synopsis

The Club (2019) is a Mexican crime drama series created by Camila Ibarra for Netflix. Alejandro Speitzer plays Pablo Caballero, a young man weighed down by the expectations of his father Santiago Caballero (Alejandro Puente) and driven by a need to prove he is someone. Pablo launches a new shady, tricky business that draws him into the drug trade, where each small win brings a happiness that is shadowed by consequences. Alongside him, Minnie West plays Sofía and Axel Arenas plays Jonás, with Arcelia Ramírez as María and Sofía De Llaca Mata as Lorena among the principal figures orbiting his choices. The single season of twenty-five episodes runs as a serialized story, with each installment pushing the business deeper into dangerous territory and tightening the bonds and betrayals among the characters. Set in contemporary Mexico, the show carries a restless, tense, and morally fraught register, with moments of glamour cut against the grit of cartel life. Fans of Narcos and Breaking Bad will find resonance in its portrait of ambition, family obligation, and the costs of a shortcut taken for love of a father's approval.
