## Synopsis

Stove League (2019-2020) is a South Korean sports drama series created by Lee Shin-hwa for SBS, running sixteen episodes in a single season. Baek Seung Soo (Namkoong Min), a general manager whose previous championship teams were dismantled by struggling parent companies, is handed the cellar-dwelling Dreams baseball club. He is paired with Lee Se Young (Park Eun-bin), the youngest head of the management team, whose relentless devotion to the franchise matches his own determination. Their engine is simple and concrete: scouting reports, trade negotiations, contract budgets, and off-season roster gambles, all pushed against boardroom interference and rival front offices. Each episode builds through strategy meetings, draft preparations and quiet clashes inside the club's offices, so the story reads as a season of management decisions rather than on-field play alone. The tone blends melodrama with warm workplace camaraderie and a slow-burning romance, and the atmosphere stays hopeful even when setbacks pile up. Set in contemporary South Korea within the professional baseball world, it is a k-drama that suits viewers who enjoyed the strategy of Moneyball or the corporate intrigue and team loyalty of Misaeng. The series is best for viewers wanting an underdog story told through the people who build a team rather than the players who take the field.
