## Synopsis

Sing Yesterday for Me (2020) is a Japanese seinen slice of life anime series produced by Doga Kobo and DMM.futureworks, adapted from a manga and aired on TV Asahi and ABEMA. Across twelve roughly twenty-three-minute episodes, aimless university graduate Rikuo Uozumi (voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi) takes a job at a convenience store and drifts through uneventful days until a reunion with his former girlfriend and classmate Shinako Morinome (voiced by Kana Hanazawa) and the unusual Haru Nonaka (voiced by Yume Miyamoto), who keeps a pet raven, stirs up old feelings and tangled loyalties. The engine here is small: awkward conversations, part-time shifts, and the quiet tug between past and present rather than any grand plot. Episodes unfold as gentle character moments over one continuing arc, so order matters. The mood is wistful, intimate and softly melancholic, with a bittersweet sense of youth slipping by. Fans of Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku, Barakamon and Your Lie in April will find a similar resonance in its unhurried romance and everyday warmth. Set in contemporary Japan, it is a low-key romance for viewers who enjoy reflective, character-driven stories.
