## Synopsis

Age of Tanks (2017) is a French documentary miniseries broadcast on PLANÈTE+ in four episodes of about 55 minutes each. Rather than following a single protagonist, the series is built around its subject, the military tank, and traces how that machine moved through the conflicts and geopolitical shifts of the twentieth century and into the twenty-first. Narration by Rachel Williams guides viewers through archival footage, period imagery and expert-style explanation, moving from the trenches of World War I onward through the decades in which armored vehicles reshaped battlefields and alliances. Each episode carries the weight of its era, showing how design choices, industrial production and military doctrine fed into the wars that followed. The tone is sober and factual, with an undercurrent of unease about the machines of destruction at the center of the story. Viewers drawn to war documentaries, military history and the stories behind famous weapons will find a similar appeal to the long-form historical docuseries tradition of The World at War and Dogfights. The series suits anyone curious about how technology and conflict have shaped one another across more than a century of warfare.
