## Synopsis

Home for Christmas (2019-2025) is a Norwegian romance comedy-drama series created by Per-Olav Sørensen for Netflix. Set in present-day Oslo, it follows Johanne (Ida Elise Broch), a thirty-something woman whose search for real connection becomes tangled with former partners and new romantic prospects. Her friend Jørgunn (Gabrielle Leithaug), along with Henrik (Eric Curtis Johnson) and Stein (Mads Sjøgård Pettersen), circulate through her love life, while her family ties add weight to the festive setting. Each season unfolds across a Christmas period, and the story is built from awkward reunions, dating mishaps and the tangled logistics of rekindled romance. The series runs for three seasons and twenty episodes, with a tone that blends warm holiday coziness and wry, grounded humour with moments of genuine heartache. Its Scandinavian sensibility and frank handling of adult relationships will appeal to viewers who enjoy the emotional honesty of Girls and the seasonal warmth of Love Actually.
