## Synopsis

Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer (2019) is a British-produced true crime documentary miniseries created by Mark Lewis for Netflix. Across three roughly hour-long episodes, it follows a loose group of amateur online sleuths who react to a gruesome video posted by a twisted offender and launch a risky manhunt that stretches across Toronto, Montreal and Berlin. The engine is the chase itself: volunteers trade tips, track digital footprints and confront police and journalists while the suspect keeps broadcasting his cruelty to provoke them. Interviews with the investigators, police officers, a Toronto Sun journalist and a fugitive task force detective are interwoven with unsettling footage that gives the story a grim, unpolished immediacy. Its register is tense, disturbed and morally uneasy, examining narcissism, online notoriety and the dangers of vigilante justice. Viewers who appreciate true crime docuseries such as Making a Murderer, The Imposter and The Staircase will find the same mix of investigative detail and unsettling human portraiture here. The subject matter is harrowing, and the tone stays sober throughout.
