## Synopsis

The World of the Married is a South Korean television drama created by Kang Eun-kyung and Mo Wan-il for JTBC. Kim Hee-ae plays Ji Seon-u, an associate director of a family clinic whose seemingly flawless life includes a successful career, a handsome younger husband, and a devoted son. Park Hae-joon plays her husband Lee Tae-o, an aspiring film director whose affair sets off a chain of betrayals that reaches the friends around her. Han So-hee plays Yeo Da-gyeong, one of the people entangled in the scandal. The engine of the story is Ji Seon-u's slow, calculated pursuit of revenge, as she weighs every confrontation, lie and alliance against the life she has built. The series runs as a single sixteen-episode season, with each hour driven by new reversals, hidden affairs and secrets that keep shifting loyalties. It is a polished Korean drama, a glossy portrait of upper middle class Seoul in which domestic life becomes a battlefield. Its tone is tense, melodramatic and emotionally raw, with a cold, controlled undercurrent beneath the surface elegance. Fans of Big Little Lies, The Affair and The Penthouse will find resonance in its portrait of marital collapse and vengeful reckoning.
