## Synopsis

Gleipnir (2020) is a Japanese anime supernatural action series produced by PINE JAM and broadcast on TOKYO MX and other regional networks, a single 13-episode season running about 24 minutes per episode. Shuichi Kagaya, an ordinary high school boy in a dull small town, discovers he can transform into a furry dog with an oversized revolver and a zipper down his back after he saves a classmate from a warehouse fire. Natsuki Hanae voices Shuichi, while Nao Toyama voices Clair Aoki, the classmate who is searching for the sister who killed her family and who recruits him as a tool for her mission. Kana Hanazawa voices Elena Aoki, and Takahiro Sakurai voices Alien. The engine of the show is a reluctant partnership built on exploitation and survival, with each episode delivering creature combat, shadowy organizations and escalating confrontations. The series is a short seinen-leaning experiment set in a contemporary Japanese town, mixing action, mystery and fan-service sexuality. Fans of Chainsaw Man, Higurashi When They Cry and Hellsing Ultimate will find a similar mix of monstrous transformation and darker adult undercurrents, though its tone is more uneven and its pacing more repetitive than those peers. The show carries a TV-14 rating and mature content, so viewers should expect sexualized moments and violence throughout its run.
