## Synopsis

Three Days of Christmas (2019) is a Spanish family drama miniseries created by Clara Esparrach and Pau Freixas and produced by Filmax and Arca Audiovisual. Across three hour-long episodes, the story follows four sisters who gather in their family home for Christmas at three moments of their lives, in youth, adulthood and old age. Victoria Abril plays María, and the older cast includes Verónica Forqué as Adela, Charo López as Esther and Ángela Molina as Valentina, with Elena Anaya, Nerea Barros, Verónica Echegui and Anna Moliner playing the younger versions of the sisters. Each episode stages the same holiday table in a different decade, so the emotional engine is what the years have done to the sisters: old loyalties, unspoken grudges and family secrets surface slowly as the dinner unfolds. The format is a tight, self-contained limited series rather than an ongoing saga, and its countryside setting gives the household a confined, intimate feel. The tone is wistful and melancholic, warm at the edges but carrying a steady undercurrent of regret and tenderness. Viewers who enjoyed the generational sweep of This Is Us or the bittersweet family reckonings of Little Miss Sunshine will find a similar resonance here, in a shorter and quieter register.
