## Synopsis

McMillion$ (2020) is an American true crime docuseries created for HBO and presented as a six-episode limited series. Built from interviews with the people caught in the fallout, it follows the McDonald's Monopoly game fraud of the 1990s, in which a corrupt security chief rigged the game's prizes for years. Former prizewinners such as Jerry Colombo, whose story is central, and Gloria Brown recount how they came to believe in their luck, while FBI special agent Doug Mathews and former special agent in charge Tom Kneir describe the slow, methodical investigation that finally unravelled the scheme. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Devereux and McDonald's global security director Rob Holm add the institutional angle, showing how a trusted promotion became a vehicle for organized fraud. Each episode mixes talking-head testimony with archival footage and reconstructed evidence, so the story unfolds like a detective puzzle. The tone is wry and indignant, with a sly sense of American consumer nostalgia. Fans of The Jinx, Tiger King and other documentary investigations into deception will find the same blend of outrageous revelation and human storytelling.
