## Synopsis

Super Star Academy (2016) is a Chinese web fantasy series created for QQLive, a Chinese national-television-style online drama with a youth fantasy sensibility. Cheng Zhi Er, played by Wang Yuwen, is a long-bullied young woman who is suddenly recruited into an elite academy in a parallel world. Her own supernatural power slowly awakens as she navigates classmates and rivalries with the privileged heirs, among them Fang TianZe (Xiao Zhan), Wan ShiCun (Bai Shu) and Shen Hao (Wu Jiacheng). The engine of the show is her struggle to fit into a society that sorts people into rank by their horoscope signs, while her hidden abilities draw attention she cannot control. Each episode is built from classroom friction, social maneuvering among the heirs, and small revelations about the academy's rules and the powers her classmates carry. The series runs as a single complete season of thirty episodes of about twenty-one minutes each, a self-contained story with a light, glossy, comic-romantic register. Its tone blends whimsy with a sincere underdog arc, set against a stylized parallel world rather than any real historical period. Fans of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, My Hero Academia and The Untamed will find resonance in its school-based power awakening, elite rivalries and youthful ensemble energy.
