## Synopsis

The Green Planet (2022) is a British nature documentary miniseries made for BBC One and produced with the BBC Studios Natural History Unit. Narrated by David Attenborough, the five-episode series is a single season of roughly fifty-eight minute installments that treats the plant kingdom as a densely connected living world. Rather than a conventional tour of wildlife, it follows plants as protagonists in a struggle to survive, compete, and cooperate, from climbing vines reaching for light to the surprising strategies that keep rainforest and desert ecosystems alive. Each episode builds on remarkable behaviour captured in immersive, close-range photography that reveals movement and rhythms usually invisible to the eye. The tone is wondrous and warm, with awe at the ingenuity of growth and quiet emotional pull in the stories of individual plants. Fans of Planet Earth II, Blue Planet II and Our Planet will find the same blend of scientific curiosity and cinematic spectacle, presented as a documentary that asks viewers to see the everyday green world anew.
