## Synopsis

Rise of Empires: Ottoman (2020-2022) is a American historical war drama series created for Netflix and produced by STXfilms and Karga Seven Pictures. Across two seasons and twelve episodes, the series follows Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II, played by Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu, as he pursues an ambitious campaign to take the Byzantine capital of Constantinople. Around him, Tuğrul Tülek plays George Sphrantzes, Osman Sonant plays Loukas Notaras, and Daniel Nuță plays Vlad Dracula, each drawn into the shifting alliances and rivalries of the era. Charles Dance narrates the story as an authoritative chronicler, giving the proceedings the weight of settled history. Each episode builds through strategic councils, diplomatic maneuvering, and large battle sequences, so the story unfolds as one continuing campaign rather than standalone cases. Set in 15th century Constantinople and the surrounding Ottoman and Byzantine lands, the series carries a solemn, grand, and often sombre tone, with war, ambition, and loss shaping its atmosphere. Viewers who enjoy The Last Kingdom, Vikings, and Spartacus will find resonance in its blend of dramatized conflict, political intrigue, and the sweep of a historical epic.
