## Synopsis

Resident Alien (2021-2025) is an American science fiction comedy created by Chris Sheridan for USA Network and Syfy, based on a comic. Alan Tudyk plays Harry Vanderspeigle, a cynical crash-landed alien who assumes the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor while secretly pursuing a mission to judge whether humanity deserves saving. Sara Tomko plays Asta Twelvetrees, a sharp local figure drawn into his orbit, and Corey Reynolds plays Mike Thompson, a lawman whose local murder investigations repeatedly pull Harry into the messy business of human life. Each episode is built around a small-town crime or domestic entanglement that forces Harry to hide his true nature while learning to assimilate. The four seasons form one continuing story in which his detachment slowly gives way to attachment to a community of neighbors, friends and family. The tone is sardonic and irreverent, with deadpan humor balancing warmer moments of found family and a gentle questioning of what makes people worth saving. Its sci-fi trappings are modest and grounded in everyday rhythms of diners, clinics and backyards. Fans of Men in Black, Eureka and Dead Like Me will find resonance in its blend of offbeat genre premise, quirky small town charm and wry comedy about belonging.
