## Synopsis

Big Shot (2021-2022) is an American sports dramedy created by David E. Kelley, Dean Lorey and Brad Garrett for Disney+. John Stamos plays Marvyn Korn, a hot-tempered men's basketball coach who loses his NCAA job after throwing a chair at a referee and must take a post at Westbrook School for Girls, a private all-girls high school. His engine is simple but pointed: he wants his career and reputation back, and the obstacles are his own temper, a school that does not trust him, and a team of teenage girls who have no reason to follow a man who has just been disgraced. Jessalyn Gilsig plays Holly Barrett, and Sophia Mitri Schloss plays Emma Korn, whose presence keeps the coach's home life and his shaky relationship with his daughter in view. Nell Verlaque, Tiana Le and Yvette Nicole Brown round out the principal cast. Each episode mixes locker-room games with the personal lives of students and faculty, so the sports stakes and the adolescent drama move together. The network runs two seasons of ten episodes each, and the show plays as a single continuing arc rather than a case-of-the-week format. The mood is brisk and warm, with comic bite and a steady undercurrent of sincerity about second chances. Fans of Ted Lasso, Friday Night Lights and Coach Carter will find resonance in its flawed coach, its team-driven redemption story and its family-friendly heart.
