## Synopsis

High Fidelity (2020) is a American streaming dramedy created by Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka for Hulu, a one-season romantic comedy series that was canceled after ten episodes. Zoë Kravitz plays Robyn 'Rob' Brooks, a record store owner in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, who keeps circling back to her past relationships through the songs and pop culture that shaped them. Her friends include Simon, played by David H. Holmes, and Cherise, played by Da'Vine Joy Randolph, who help her navigate the awkward and funny moments of a neighborhood undergoing rapid gentrification. Each episode is built around Rob's attempt to get over her one true love, with flashbacks threading through the present-day shop talk and customer encounters. The tone is wry, conversational and wistful, with a melancholic undertow beneath the banter. Set in contemporary Brooklyn, it captures the textures of urban life, from shifting storefronts to late-night hangouts. Fans of the 2000 film High Fidelity, along with Girls and Insecure, will find resonance in its sharp, self-aware take on modern romance and city living.
