## Synopsis

The Forgotten Army (2020) is an Indian national-television historical war miniseries created by Kabir Khan and Heeraz Marfatia for Prime Video. Its story follows Lt. Sodhi, played by Sunny Kaushal, leading a daredevil band of men and women, including Maya, played by Sharvari, and Arshad, played by Rohit Chaudhary, as part of the Indian National Army. The army is forged out of British defeat in Singapore during the Second World War and is led by the charismatic Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Across five episodes of roughly forty minutes each, the drama moves between combat sequences and the personal bonds that hold the fighters together, with Amala Akkineni and Shruti Seth anchoring the home-front and personal threads. The series delivers a heroic, patriotic register with a grounded sense of sacrifice and loyalty. Its anti-colonial resistance and unity across divides give it a weight similar to historical epics like Gandhi and Lagaan, while its battlefield ensemble and sense of national duty will resonate with fans of Band of Brothers. Set in 1940s Southeast Asia and the Burma front, the miniseries is a sweeping, emotionally charged look at a chapter of Indian history that is rarely dramatized for mainstream audiences today.
