## Synopsis

Nisman: The Prosecutor, the President and the Spy (2019) is an Argentine true crime docuseries released on Netflix as a six-part limited series. It follows the death of prosecutor Alberto Nisman, found dead in his Buenos Aires apartment hours before he was set to denounce President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner for allegedly negotiating impunity for Iranian suspects in the 1994 AMIA bombing. Rather than a scripted drama, the series assembles investigative material, interviews and documentary evidence to reconstruct the tangled chain of events surrounding his final days and the official accounts that followed. Its engine is the gap between what the state says happened and what the evidence can support, with each hour pressing into intelligence services, judicial maneuvering and political loyalties. The tone is sober, tense and skeptical, with a steady accumulation of doubt rather than easy answers. Set in 1990s-era Argentina and in the present-day investigation of the death, the series is a compact, serialized inquiry into power, secrecy and institutional failure. Fans of Making a Murderer, The Staircase and Narcos will find resonance in its blend of forensic patience, national scandal and a mystery that never fully resolves.
