## Synopsis

Behind Her Eyes (2021) is a British psychological thriller miniseries created by Steve Lightfoot for Netflix. Louise (Simona Brown), a single mother working as a receptionist, begins an affair with her psychiatrist boss David (Tom Bateman) while secretly befriending his enigmatic wife Adele (Eve Hewson). Each episode tightens a web of lies as Louise grows closer to Adele, keeping every meeting hidden from the man she has crossed a line with. The engine is the question of who is really in control, and what each woman is willing to conceal to protect her own life. Set in contemporary London, the series moves through the cramped rooms of ordinary domestic life and the polished spaces of a wealthy household, building a steady sense of dread and unease. Its six fifty-minute episodes give the story a tight, compact shape, and its tone is cynical, tense and intimate. Viewers who enjoy the twisty deceptions of Gone Girl, the slow-burn unease of Twin Peaks and the emotionally fraught love triangles of The Girlfriend will find much to savour here.
