## Synopsis

Hi Bye, Mama! (2020) is a South Korean fantasy family drama created for tvN, a single season of sixteen episodes. Kim Tae-hee plays Cha Yu-ri, a mother who died in an accident and lingered as a ghost watching over her daughter and her widower Cho Gang-hwa (Lee Kyoo-hyung). When the deities revive her with a deadline of forty nine days to return to her place, she must weigh her own life against the happiness of a husband who has remarried. Go Bo-gyeol plays Oh Min-jeong, the new wife, whose presence makes the reunion painfully complicated. The engine of the series is the slow re-entry of a returned mother into a household that has moved on, with each episode built from small domestic moments, tense confrontations, and gentle supernatural interruptions. Told as a single continuous arc, it has the shape of a contained limited run rather than an open-ended saga. The tone is warm and wistful, rooted in the emotional texture of Korean family melodrama, with grief, reconciliation, and maternal love foregrounded. Fans of Hotel del Luna and Mom will find resonance in its blend of afterlife whimsy and domestic heartache.
