## Synopsis

Alice (2020) is a South Korean science fiction melodrama series created for SBS and wavve, a single-season limited series of sixteen seventy-minute episodes. In a 2050 where time travel is made possible by a device called Alice, agents are sent into the past on missions tied to a rumor about the technology's end. Yoon Tae-yi (Kim Hee-seon) is sent to 1992 with Yoo Min-hyuk (Kwak Si-yang), but she decides to stay behind, becoming Park Sun Young and raising a son, Park Jin-gyeom (Joo Won), whose health is damaged by radiation exposure. Decades later, Jin-gyeom sets out to uncover who murdered his mother, and his search leads him to Yoon Tae-yi, a physics professor who looks exactly like her. The engine of the story is a hunt for truth shaped by paradox, secrets and divided loyalties, while each episode weaves investigation into emotional revelations about family and sacrifice. Its tone is wistful, tragic and tense, with a melancholic atmosphere that lingers on longing and lost time. Fans of Dark, Mr. Sunshine and Oldboy will find resonance in its layered timelines, intimate romance and haunting emotional register. The show balances its sci fi logic with the heightened emotional stakes typical of Korean television drama, making it a compelling binge for viewers who enjoy time bending mysteries.
